Thanks to West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Community Climate Grants Fund
January 2024
We are excited to announce that Portobello Community Centre has taken a major step toward sustainability by installing solar panels and battery storage. Thanks to the generous support from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Community Climate Grants programme, we are proud to reduce our environmental impact and lower our electricity costs.
The solar panels and battery storage were installed by Eco-cute, a trusted local renewable energy supplier. Their expertise and commitment to green energy have enabled us to significantly cut down on our reliance on the grid while generating clean energy right here at the community centre. The battery storage system ensures that we can maximize the use of the energy we generate, storing excess power for use during peak times.

This project aligns with our mission to be a greener, more sustainable community hub. By lowering our operational costs, we can continue to reinvest in the services and activities that benefit everyone in our community.
We want to extend our thanks to the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Community Climate Grants programme for making this project possible. Together, we are working to create a greener, more sustainable future for all.
Stay tuned for updates as we continue to explore ways to make Portobello Community Centre an environmentally responsible space!
